Shem u'malchot - mentioning the name and the sovereignty of God in a blessing

Good point M. I guess those who say "Ruach" or "Hashechinah" or "source of life" in a berachah or rely on these formulations are acting contrary to the Orthodox halachah. Generally those formulations are used in Jewish Renewal, Reconstructionist, Progressive and other such non-Orthodox circles.

At least in the instance you quote, they got their grammar right!

Modeh Ani is less of a problem as it is fairly recently composed and it is not a berachah.

(In the Amidah, the sovereignty of God is not mentioned, which is quite interesting when you thing about it.)
